Valerie Snobeck, residence from May to July 2018
For this new project, Valerie Snobeck conducted research for the United States Environmental Protection Agency,
Environmental Protection Agency - (EPA), located in Washington D.C., thus continuing its reflection on the environmental policy conducted by the United States.
Based on a precise study, the artist chose to direct his approach towards the building that houses the EPA's headquarters, developing a process of reinterpretation of the architectural elements that make up its neo-classical-style façade: windows, doors, stone niches, arches, corbels,...
If each of these elements remains identifiable, all of them will undergo significant modification, and will be integrated into complex devices, where the artist deconstructs the usual mechanisms by which we give meaning and values to the things we think we know.
