|Yazid Oulab I Residency from February to July 2009
Yazid Oulab was born in Constantine, Algeria. He lives and works in Marseille, France.
He is represented in France by the Galerie Eric Dupont, where he has had several solo exhibitions. In 2008, he participated in the exhibition Les Traces du Sacré at the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou. His work is in several public collections in France and in Luxembourg.
In his work, Oulab uses diverse mediums: drawing, video, sculpture, or installations.
Yazid Oulab's residency at the Atelier Calder will be an opportunity for him to create a new series of works using the theme of bonds and connections recently developped in his work. This notion of attachment will be expressed by the use of cords or iron wire and the production of monumental works.
